Leedy & Ludwig parade drum

I just acquired this drum, which is 10x14, and has calfskin heads. The batter head has "Leedy & Ludwig Standard Hardwhite" stamped on it. The snares appear to be wire wound silk, similar to guitar strings.

I think the drum dates from the early-mid 50's, but the only catalog listings i have seen online show the same configuration in 12x15 size.

Can anyone help identify this drum? any help is appreciated.

By the way, it has nickel plated Imperial lugs, and no extra holes in the shell.

I can see the badge above the strainer. Leedy and Ludwig drums are generally pretty easy to date as they were from the '50-'54 time frame. Both names were owned by Conn at the time. This was right before WFL bought the Ludwig name back and Leedy was acquired by Slingerland.

Nice looking drum.

Possibly a date stamp in the shell, look through the air hole. Four digits, first two are year, second two digits are month.

Also, I've found similar finished drums in 9x13 sizes with a badge that says "Pan American". They're date stamped 1955.

Here are some more pics of the drum. I put a Fiberskyn on top and a regular plastic snare head on it for the time being, and generic snares. The calfskin snare side head needs to be retucked, but the batter head seems to be in pretty good shape.

Got the drum back together with the calfskin heads and original snares. I retucked the snare side head. The counterhoops are obviously not original to the drum, since there are six clawhook impressions, as opposed to eight on the drum. My first drum with calfskin heads.
