Been working on this one for a couple years now I guess. Started out with a bare 14x20 Clubdate shell from ebay. Like so many, it had the Ludwig hollywood center tom mount added at some point, and it was crooked! Drum was in great condition though. Late 60's keystone model with clear maple interior. I straightened the mount on the shell and went ahead and replaced the stripped mount with a new one. Took a while to find all the correct parts for it. Has a couple of neat period transition items including the late 60's bass head that has the Block logo up top and the blue 60's logo on the bottom. Rail mount is also the newer style with the meshed teeth but with the script logo instead of block logo. Last items found were the hoops with original Sky Blue Pearl inlay. Many thanks to my buddy JCCabinets Jeff for the front hoop and inlay, and also my good friend Nevin for many of the needed parts.

The 8x12 ride tom is also a late 60's model with clear maple interior. Also came to me with just a few parts and was able to find the rest.

Last piece of the puzzle was the 14x14 floor tom. Took forever to find this. Got it from forum friend EC_Curtis. It had been covered in blue contact paper and had nickel hardware. Its a little earlier with resacote interior and bat muffler. Thanks to my friend KCDrumdad Rick for the nice deal on the lugs and tension rods to finish it up.

Snare drum is a 6.5x14 8 lug Ludwig wrapped in some new old stock Sky Blue Pearl. Bought this from a Dfo forum friend a few years ago. Great snare drum! Have had the canister throne for quite some time.

Set it up for some pics today and have it in the practice room now. Love the way it sounds. Sky Blue Pearls are my faves and so are clubdates. Surprised that it took me this long to put a set together. Hope you enjoy the pics. Been trying to focus on completing some old projects and have a few more in the works.

Mike, what would we do without the forum, lol. Nice to see several members contributing to your project. I love what you did with the snare drum. It took me 3 years and 400.00 to find my floor tom, not sure it was worth 400 but had to pull the trigger or wait another 3 years. So, did you end up painting my hoop? Well done buddy!

Thank you!
