GREAT JOB! Thanks for sharing. I'd also love to see your J.W. York & Sons snare drum since I've also got one. Perhaps you could be kind enough to post a pic when you get a minute. Thanks!

Is there a way to post pictures in the snare drum/drum set galleries or does somebody on VDF do that? I don't know if I'm missing something or if that is done by someone else. Help2

I foolishly sold a Lyon@Healy snare from about 1902 that had the paper L@H label inside the drum and the York and Sons metal badge on the rim...

Here's a couple of pics...

York did manufacture some drums, but mainly brass instruments... they distributed a variety of instruments from several manufacturers.

This is what I recall from my research, I wish I had saved the web pages....

You can date York badges and labels somewhat by the way his family grew...

First York.... then York and Son.... then York and Sons

I think the York badge was 1890s? .... and progressed from there.

Would love to see some pics!
