I've owned several Kent Drums, and truth be told, I never really liked them.

Just not made well, and the snare drums will drive you completely crazy trying to to tune them to get a decent sound. It is like going up to bat with 2 stikes on you already.

The maple shells werent bad, but they need ALOT of work on the bearing edges in order to sound good. If you buy a set of Kents, be prepared to spend alot of time on them to get something that sounds decent.

Dont get me wrong.....it CAN be done for sure. I once (with alot of help from Jonistix here) got a cheap Pearl Luan set to sound like a Rodgers kit. it just takes ALOT of work, and trial and error. You will spend hours on a drum only to find that you did it wrong and have to do the edges again, but you WILL eventually get it right. It feels good, too.
