What can you fine folks tell me about Kaman drums? Most of what popped up through the search engine was about Legends. A kit popped up near me for cheap w/ a Rogers 360 snare, old B8/Zyn pies. Nothing super enticing or anything & frankly they look like 70's MIT's w/ battleship lugs n' all. Just wondering if the shells are desirable at all. Thanks!

The Kaman drums I know about were called Legend. I owned one of the wood snares, it was excellent. They made complete Legend Drum Sets for a while and were getting good press. I believe they were made with Keller Shells.
I think that I read somewhere that the reason they stop production was because the bought Gretsch Drums brand, and it no longer made sense to keep production going for Legend.
There was a man in Upstate NY that bought out a large quantity of the Legend product line. He also was a Camco collector. That is who I purchased the Snare from. Unfortunately that was about 20 years ago and I can remember his name.
Sorry no idea, they look entry level to my eye.

Way back when I printed a bunch of brochures and dealer/retail price sheets for Kaman/Legend snare drums. They were all nice looking snares and we had a few to photograph for the brochures. Both wood and metal shells and looked like high end stuff. Had to be late 80's or early 90's. Don't remember much else but they were pretty expensive. Nothing on other drums and toms though. But if they are anything like the snares they should be ok stuff I'd think?
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Kaman acquired C. Bruno & Son, one of the largest musical instrument and accessory distributors, in 1971 or so. In the 70's, Bruno marketed Majestic (Pearl?) drums. Later, the CB-700 line was produced by Pearl for C. Bruno. Sometime during the 80's, the C. Bruno name was replaced with Kaman Musical Instrument Corporation.
Kaman was a manufacturer of helicopters, other aviation products, Ovation Guitars, Legend Drums and a host of other brands such as Hamer Guitars, Trace Elliot that were bought by the company. In addition to it's own manufactured products, Kaman continues to distribute a wide range of musical accessories.
Your kit appears similar to the entry level CB Percussion kits offered in the 80's and 90's.
