A forum member, whom I bought my '50s Trixon snare from seemed to imply that Remo kept a small stockpile of metric heads. I could be wrong.

that's me. Any music store that sells Remo heads , can order one next time they order heads. That way the shipping gets apportioned across a bunch of heads , instead of being applied to just one. If you order the head separately the shipping will be about 10.00 additionally( to Ontario---they use Canpar) but you must order through a dealer.

Ontario is serviced for Remo products by Calato/Direct Music. They have the distribution for Canada.

They do not have distribution for the U.S. , so their operation in Niagara Falls N.Y. , is dedicated to the Canadian market. They bring in a semi, of Remo heads every 2 weeks, from Remo, so they are shipping a pile of heads into Ontario and and elsewhere. Should not be a problem getting one fairly quickly. I would doubt if Dave's Drum shop would have one in stock----he's pretty slim on stocking much too off the beaten path; especially non-American drum stuff. I've been there numerous times and if you aren't in the Ottawa area, you're going to pay shipping twice. Best contact your local dealer . The part # is the same as the standard one with a PR added to it. The heads come in 12, 16 and 20 ( adjusted sizes ) and are available in several weights and finishes.
