Here is a vintage John Grey Capri snare...It has 6 lugs...Size is 5" x 14"...All original except top batter head and snare cords...The wrap is in near mint condition and the chrome has very minimal pitting...

Very nice! Thanks for sharing it with us!

Lovin' those lugs! Nice drum.
B
Nice looking drum. Did it come with a drum key for the?
Cam
Thanks for the comments fellas!!
Rillow64...It didn't come with a key, but, I just bought an extra one from fellow VDF member Arno...The key I have in my collection, stays in my collection so that's why I got an extra one...In the meantime, I'm using a slotted Premier that works just fine...

Sweet! What's the throw look like?
Amazing that they made the effort to put cast hoops on a 6 lug 14" drum. Those are rare birds. Only other company that I can think of , that did that was ASBA.
I'll bet it's not a shabby player.
Premier did 6 lug light die cast rims on a Olympic wood snare I had...
calfskin, it is a nice player with an open tone to it...This snare is mint!!
I`m going to start a thread in the Non-USA Drums section with more pics...
Cheers
Hello. Nice snare you have. I have a question. If you don't mind. I bought a John Grey tom 12"x8" Aqua Sparkle wrap .How could I look to find out its age. The guy said from the 60s ? Thank you.D' Drummer
