J Cocker video:A couple of interesting vintage kits Last viewed: 2 days ago

The Camco kit to stage left impressed me when I saw it with Leon Russell in the early '70s. I believe it was Jim Gordon on drums alone with L Russell.

A couple of weeks later, I passed by a music store that I passed daily but happened to (for the first time) look at the window. Lo and behold, an identical kit shone forth.........bat turn, still play the kit.

Here's the inspiration. Pay no attention to all the Hippies.

John, it must have been a real mongrel kit. The rack tom is a keystone sky blue pearl Ludwig.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Chuck Blackwell, Keltner and Gordon.

Great and shambolic band.

Cocker had some great rhythm sections.
