It's Black... It's Beautiful... But is it....

Here are the weights for the drums:

9.95-lbs for the Black Chrome fully dressed

4.35-lbs for the Black Chrome totally "nekid" (shell only)

13.2 for the Hammered Bronze with die cast hoops (L552KY)

I didn't weigh the parts bag with all the lugs/trension rods/throw-off & butt/muffler/rims. Also I didn't feel like disassembling/reassmembling the 552.

I will bring the shell with me to work next week and find out the metal compostion (PMI test).

PMI complete. Removed a bit of the unfinished interior treatment. I chose an area that was already disturbed or poorly covered from the "factory" as the abrasion spot in order to test the shell. These areas are visible in the other pictures preriously posted... the flaw type is somewhat visible in the picture with the shell information.

On other shells I would choose the area behind the tone control bracket as the abrasion spot as it is a bit easier to conceal when the drum is reassembled.
