Seems high. I would still go and see 'em. You never know what gems you might find. He may 'remember' a cymbal or snare or something at the last minute. The price does feel a bit high with what is shown.

I called the guy and asked if he had the bottom rims for the yahamas. he doesnt have them. I asked what his bottom dollar was and he siad he had no clue how much they are worth and will consider any offer. he asked my name and I told him. I asked his and he told me. His dad is a good friend of mine. So now I dont want to know if they are worth anything. If they are then what do i do? His unclle , who used to be a good friend of mine gave them to him a long time ago. We were really good friends also untill he screwed me on a deal. Sorta like the kid that wanted to sell the zildjian vintage hi hats his grand dad gave him and didnt know what they were worth.

I have been reading yamaha's history. It's pretty interesting. nippon gakki is what yamaha was called in the old days, 1800's till mid 1900's This is a nippon gakki drum kit. I think it's worth a look.

I bet you guys think I'm crazy about drums or something. Im noot crazy, I'm physco! about drums. I found another snare at a pawnshop for $50. I dont even remember the brand lol, Its a pretty turquoise sparkle probably a japanese. The clencher that made me buy it? The luddy ufo case that it came with! Then I see these on CL. Well I have to check em out. Drums are cheaper than guns, or wives, or classic cars, race cars, etc..... Im fixin to have to liquidate a bedroom so I can have more rooms for my drums. I have a 4 bedroom house. 1 bedroom has a sewing machine, a tannin bed and a whole bedroom suite (antique) it's my sewing/tannin/xtra guest room. I need to get rid of the bed and dresser , and chest o dwarers. so I can set my drums up n there.

BTW I dont tan lol My kids and gf do

I cant sit still that long.

I went to see the yamaha's. the wrap is beautiful, but the chrome is pretty pitted and no snare, tom or bd bottom rims. he stands have been spray painted black, the cymbals were el cheapo's, apparently the bass drum is supposed to have 4 legs. 2 were missing and thre were gaping holes where they were supposed to be. His dad came out and said hi to me. I told him to try CL for a few weeks and if they didnt sell i'd give $100 for it. This kit has no sentiomenatl value for him and will take a lot of work to restore them. May be able to part them out and sell on ebay.

Even $100 seems high to me......probably luan shells with horrible bearing edges. More work than one should put into a kit to make it sound just ok. You've got to find the missing hardware, fix the bearing edges, etc, etc.....just not worth the effort to me....For $400 you can find a decent 80's Ludwig Rocker or Rocker II kit which was made in the USA from the same shells Ludwig used for their top of the line classic series. Also, the Ludwig Standard kits from the 60's/early 70's are becoming a good buy again......and again they use the same shells as the top of the line drums of the time.....
