First the snare looks wrong to me the badge and the lugs don't look like anything i have seen on Ludwig drums....Now for you next question on the Ludwig shell's in the 60s my understanding is that the ply's were glued together them the coving was glued on then the shell was bent to make the drum..After this the rings were glued in...Mikey

Bizarre snare. almost looks like a dynasonic shell but with a couple xtra lines, but I don't recognize the lug style etc whatsoever. Never saw a ludwig like that!

That metal drum Is Not a Ludwig snare drum, they never ever built that drum. the blue sparkle wood shell that is correct that is how they were built back then.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

The metal drum isn't Ludwig, as others have said.

The wrap was put on before the shell was steam bent and the wrap layer is "lapped" into the shell as a result. This was done until 1969 according to Rob Cook's Ludwig Book. I've got a late 1969 set which doesn't have the wrap lapped in.

I'm not sure what you are asking about reinforcing rings. They were used until 1976 when Ludwig changed to new molds using 6 ply rather than the earlier 3 ply. Again Rob Cook's book is my source for the date.

Or did you mean a what point in the manufacturing of shells were the reinforcing rings put inside?

I believe that rings were put when drum was rounded and glued in to shell

Mikey and everyone else is correct. That snare is a MIT with a Luddy badge (copy?). Someone has also removed the lugs and installed tubes. I have that exact shell sitting in my junk pile now.
