DISASTER!

Ironically I started this post when I started my inventory but since I only put in a few hours every ten days or so I didn't get very far.

But then In December disaster hit and my drum room flooded! 8 inches of water at the deep end, about 5-6 at the shallow. I had 3 kits set up and 3 more kits stacked up, also a few djembes on the floor too. All in all 6 bass drums got wet, 3 djembes, a snare drum and on 1950's Gretsch duco RB floor tom. SUCK!

Thankfully The water rose rapidly and I became aware of it almost immediately. Everything was pulled out within a few minutes of getting wet.

I think I salvaged most of it, the newer stuff actually held the water out and my vistalite kit just needed towling off.

It still made me think if I hadn't woken up at 5 am to check it could have been in water for a few hours. Then what.

Also, although we estimated about 6k in damage, my insurance adjuster said more like 12k in damage but my homeowners just covered $2500, thats the max on my policy.

the guy said I need to get a musical instrument rider ASAP

I'm hurring to finish my inventory now.

Anyone have special insurance on drums?

Anyone know how much it costs?
