Maybe I'm wrong, but I would guess that this is one of those occasions where the seller has established the brand of an entire kit, based on a single, branded cymbal mount. Don't recognize lugs, and the vertical wood grain on outside, (no interiors???) makes me think MIJ... Anyone?

Looks to me as they were painted with a brush vertically-those are "Rocket"lugs from the 40's.I'd have no reason to doubt they are Gretsches,everything looks pretty un-messed with but the paint job.There is green under the bass drum paint and some red sparkle by a lug on the mounted tom.Maybe they didn,t match....

definitely some 1940s Gretsch

it looks like they were painted over a wrap ....or rewrapped with something you would line a kitchen drawer with

Cool old Gretsch kit that looks like its led a rough life. Could be a fun restoration project.

Nice ole drums. I think the seller is out by a decade or two on the age.

Those are Broadkaster lugs. The drums are worth well over $500 in parts n' shells alone. Too bad the badges are missing.

This is one of the things I love about this forum. Guys really know what you're looking at. Still looks like vertical wood grain to me on closer inspection, but then, I am scheduled for an eye exam today, (seriously). Learning more all the time here on VDF. Thanks guys.
