Identification of my snare drum "Phonic", 506, ferro

Hello everybody,

This is Kay from Germany speaking.

I have now my Sonor \"Phonic\" snare drum 506 Ferro. Unfortunately, it does not have a stamp inside to clearify the year of production. The serial badge nummer is 49342. It looks exactly like the snare drum on the catalogue in http://www.sonormuseum.com/1979/1979smallcat/1979smallcat.html

Can anybody please tell me the year of making of this snaredrum with a serial badge number close to mine?

Mine is August 78 and starts with 25***.

What badge does it have ? My 506 has the small logo Cenntenial Bk/wh badge (78) My 454 is earlier than 76 and has a badge made of foil, and my 505 (78) has the same badge as the catalog drum but is white with black prints. Anything in the 80`s will be larger in size and different in print.

I wish I could see it, there were yearly changes in SONOR from 75 to 80.

To be clear though, SONOR had Serial#`s on badges in the 70`s but didn`t keep records at all. You get better info from the build.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!
