Hey kids.
Someone is letting this go for cheap near me and I don't know much about Tama...looks like fun but is this entry level stuff or worthwhile? The shells look composite or maybe painted greyish on the inside?
Anyone...anyone...

Is that the ImperialStar series? I have a 78 Imperialstar and I love them
80s Swingstars, built like a tank. Short legs don't give sufficient support for such a heavy kit, though. I had an anchor on mine.
Thanks guys.
The postings keep coming on CL for this set and the price keeps going up. Started at $75 and now $200.
oh boy. can't win them all. I think there was prob a big response and buyer got wiser or meaner depending on which stance you take.
I hate it when sellers do that, but, that's life I guess!
1984-ish swingstar in standard sizes, that's the "zola-cote" sprayed on the inside to protect the luan or "mohogany" from moisture. the wrap on these drums is well glued and hard to remove. my drums are X-tras sizes (11x12 12x13) and are low pitched and dont have a lot of sustain (mounts and the ruff interiors) but they do take a beating, and yes the kick will slide away easy.
