I just pulled the trigger on [ame="http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acustic-Musical-Instrument-Drum-Set-Snare-Slingerland-/131114438403?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=KsKOnpuvL1OidyF2smTQDMWT4Uc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc"]this[/ame] thinking that it would be a single ply drum but looking around here a bit more I see that it could also be a 3 ply shell. Only 3 photos and no idea what the rest of the drum is like. What are the chances of it being 3 ply? Looks like the throw arm is missing and who knows if the muffler is there. Cooked Egg

Sorry, left the word "bit" out of the titleSailing2

Who cares out the ply - if it's Chicago it's pretty special. You can buy those arms from that Creations bloke. I'm going to say its solid shell. Just because I have one same badge :) It was missing the clamshell so I put a Speedy throw on it. Great drum. If it's single ply it's an Artist? Or is it a Hollywood ace? I can never remember. Experts please! Ps well done.

I have one with that badge also and the clam shell strainer, it is a solid shell. I think you did good!

Thank you!

Looks like an Artist model. You'll love it. With near certainty, it's a single ply. I have two and LOVE them!

I've got the 6.5 in the same color. It's a clamshell, 1 ply snare. It sounds lovely!

Thanks, feeling better now. Seller says muffler is there and the arm has been missing since he's owned it for the last 40 years. So looking at the catalogs would this be a Super Gene Krupa 56-59?

and then I saw [ame="http://www.ebay.com/itm/Slingerland-Snare-Drum-W-DDrum-Drum-Trigger-/221372429534?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.RVI%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3D4767187394962708141%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D20131017132637%26rk%3D0%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D141190502464&nma=true&si=KsKOnpuvL1OidyF2smTQDMWT4Uc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc"]this[/ame] just now. Sold before I even had a chance to look. This one's single ply for sure. Strainer issues but a lot of drum for the money I'd guess

I think you did better. That other one will have extra holes. I almost pulled the trigger on that blue one too.
