Thats actually about the going rate on one of those................

Stupid money would be $200-300.

Eh... the amount is always relative to the necessity, and your wallet.

I literally ate Chinese food from my fav take out place (love Chinese food from this place and it's cheap) twice a day for a month so I could afford a cymbal.

Did I get tired of Chinese food for a while? Yep. Did I have an awesome new cymbal? Yep.

But I'll tell ya, that first steak the next month sure did taste good!

Oh yeah, I was single at the time, and nearly broke every month due to alimony and stuff, but it was still worth every penny, and I've still got the cymbal! Walking

Well. I finally did it. I "bought it now" for 109 plus 10 shipping. I know...probably spent too much, but I figure...in the greater scheme of life, its worth $100 to me to be able to mount my tom correctly on my 22 inch bass drum. WalkingJust had to confess and hope for support on this one! I feel kind of bad but deep down I am happy as a clam!-Adam

You got a good deal, I was selling those for 115.00-130.00 with no hassles...don't feel bad, you got the part that you needed for your Rogers drumset, you did not get taken at all.

I once paid $129 for a Dyna complete bridge. I'm glad I did it! So go for it.Walking

That's also a steal...I sell those complete for 149.00-175.00 with no hassles...I sold 10 of them.

That's actually pretty cheap...

Here's when you spend stupid money:

Buy a barn-fresh Premier kit for $120

Buy an APK mystery wood tom for $50

Buy another kick drum for $50

Buy (yet) another kick for $50

Buy some (somewhat) needed parts for around $150 (all together)

Recover some drums for $300

Buy a custom floor tom for $160

End up using 3/4 of the barn-fresh kit

Sell the snare drum of barn-fresh kit for $50

Discard the APK mystery wood drum you re-wrapped

Buy some powder-coated hoops for the 13" drum from the original barn-fresh kit for $15

I could have had a pretty nice '70s/80s Premier kit (albeit not in this funky configuration) in good nick for about what I spent.

What you did was NOT stupid money; what I did WAS stupid money and I enjoyed every cent I spent!!!

Yeah- I'm THAT guy!!!

I think you got a bargain! I paid $256 a few weeks back, although it did include both collet plates and noses. I console myself with the fact that the arm itself is a 9.5/10. And, as luck would have it, there is a very nice one up for sale right now on eBay... with a BIN of less than half of what I paid!

So my friend, you're not alone with this. Just enjoy it and let it give you a great feeling when you see it with your kit!

Not a stupid amount of money at all Adam. It's nice to get the drum part you want/need. It works out to the price of a coffee for less than a few month (or a month at Starbucks if you drink the special stuff) - or a tank of gas. Sure some people, even me, get some really great buys sometimes but more often, me for sure, we have to pay 'the price' to get that one special part we need. I'm happy for you that you got it and the money you paid is not bad at all. I say it's good you did get it and that's all that matters.

Again, thanks guys! Im feelin good about it! Cant wait to set it up! Unfortunately I dont have any more shows booked this year that I will get to bring drums to...so it will have to wait until 2012 to make its public debut! Im going to europe for most of November (to play) but thats all backlined. That will be about it for me this year! Look out 2012!
