I Finally Found the Snare I was Looking For - 1941 WMP 8x14 Ludwig & Ludwig "Super" Last viewed: 10 hours ago

Hey all,

After searching for quite sometime, both on and off the VDF, I`ve finally found the snare I`ve been looking for...I haven`t received it yet at this time, but, my anticipation is getting the better of me!! I now know how Purdie must have felt waiting for his Black Beauty to arrive!!

Anyways, it is a WMP, white oval badged Ludwig & Ludwig "Super" snare born in August, 1941...This 8x14 was custom ordered when purchased new...8 lugs...All original except the batter head...The only issue is the internal muffler is missing the felt from where the adhesive failed at some point (easy fix)...All parts function as they should...Hardware needs some cleaning, but, no rust or anything...

I had been wishing for a September, 1941 snare, but, I just couldn`t pass this one up...I am the third owner...The first owner played it for a bout 2 years and then stored this snare in a closet for close to 70 years!! It`s in great shape...

I will post more pics when I receive it...

Cheers

Thanks guys!! I`m like a kid waiting for Christmas morning to arrive...The snare is being shipped today and should be here Monday or Tuesday...We are suppose to get a bad winter storm in the next day or so, which could delay it some...

After detailing, I will post more pics and put a pic in our Gallery as well...

I forgot to mention in my OP that it also comes with the original bake-lite case as well...

Cheers
