Interesting Ludwig etc collection selling here http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/msg/3988925594.html

Considering to buy, what do you think: worth, interesting, keep as collection, sell some and keep the rest..

Any suggestion will be very much appreciated.

I saw this listing last night. Just make sure anyone looking at it reads past the headline. They are asking $2000.00, not $200.00.

yes, correct, $2K...

Apparently some blue&olive, some black&white, some not Ludwig..

Also chrome on wood..

would like to have some opinion about the asking price ($2000) vs benefit (to keep, sell in parts, etc)

Dont need all but if this is of some collectors value, would like to keep all for generation to come (my son, if ever want to be drummer:)

any help/advise/assessment greatly appreciated

Tama, Chrome/Wood, Ludwig Rockers,(I don't see anything special here). Cymbals don't command much $$ unless they're something special. It would be a big outlay of cash, take lots of storage room, & quite a while to recover your money. (of course I see some good stuff in this pile, just overall not very appealing, IMHO)

agreed the bass drum pedals are the high dollar ticket items in the bunch.

Yeah, I'm just not seeing $2K worth here... Mostly Rockers, and what vintage Rockers? USA or Asian. The badge will tell you, but I can't read it in these pix. It's a nice pile for $750.00 IMHO.

Nothing of collector value or even interesting in the entire pile. Cymbals... who knows? There maybe an old K in there making it all worthwhile, but I don't see it.

Ludwig COW kits sell on fleabay for $5/600. on a daily basis, but who wants one? No good for gigging unless you have a very strong back! The Blk & Wht. badge drums are all Ludwig low-end stuff. There's a lot of it available for sale in the photos, but I wouldn't give you a dime for the lot.

Save your $2000. and treat yourself to a Camco kit, or a Gretsch Round Badge set, how about a nice Cleveland Rogers kit for that money? Seriously, for that kind of cake, you can do much better than someone else's trash pile.

Just 'an opinion'...

John

Too many great drums to list here!

I think Purdie pretty well summed it up. For $2,000 you could buy something pretty nice and desirable. "Trash" might have been a bit harsh but the point was made.
