Well I'm in Nashville but I rarely play Country music, well at least the so called "modern" or "new country". I'm in a band that does jazz and blues, with about 70% originals at the moment. We play some old style country once in awhile to amuse ourselves. I love to play rock as well. I presently have two kits: A '64 set of Ludwigs, 20, 12, 16, and jazzfest. I have a set of '94 Ludwig Super Classics, my snares include, a '65 Supra, '67 Acrolite, and a 2004 Black Beauty. I also like other well made drums like Gretsch, Rogers, Slingerlands, Sonors, Yamahas, Premiers. I just can't afford to have samples of each. For me, I find I'm getting better drums if I stick to vintage drums and cymbals.

Over the years, I've played mainly rock, dabbled in a bit of dancy Jazz/Blues which I really enjoyed.... After a few years or so, realised I wasn't going to be the world class drummer I'd always wanted to be..LOL!!

Don't play that often now,and don't really miss the buzz of being on stage...but will always love having a good old bash... I guess that's why I think this forums fantastic...allows you to be involved with drums without having to be a great drummer.....Cool
