Hi everyone! A little help? Last viewed: 21 hours ago

I've aquired a beautiful Slingerland 3 piece and have been trying to accurately date/value it for a while now.

Easily enough to date by the badges and reference materials available. But I'd like to get some input from more experienced collectors about it.

The Bass(22") is a 1951-1952 Radio King that has been fitted with a 1968 "Set-o-Matic" Tom holder. The rack(12")& floor(16") have serial numbers that date them to the early 1970's. Along with the drums came a hard case full of original hardware and a set of 13" Zilco hi-hats and a 22" ride that at some point in time had rivets.

Are the rack & floor Radio Kings? They should have a stamped top hoop right?

Any info on thier history and value would be greatly appeciated

Thanks

Slingerland stopped officially calling toms Radio Kings after the 1956 catalogs. That was also the last year of stamped hoops.

I'm no expert on value, but I'd say $500-800 due to the modifications to the BD and the fact that 70s Slingerland drums just don't command high prices. It's a beautiful kit, though. I love the dark blue sparkle!

Oh yeah, Welcome to VDF!

Mojo, I just want to say how much I like your drums. Incorrect parts are not that big of a deal to me but I do understand how guys want all original drums. But,, at the end of the day you have a beautiful drum set. Thanks for showing it!
