Hi Guys,
Newbie to the forum...thanks for your patience.
I have a somewhat unique kit that it's time to part with, and I'm looking for some thoughts on it's value and what might be a fair price.

Here's a write-up I've put together...
12 + 1 piece Ludwig Classic Modular Kit (early to mid 1980’s – “Octaplus?”) – Complete Set with Zildjan Cymbals & All Hardware
“Blue and Olive” (B&O) Ludwig badging.
Very likely “one-of-a-kind.” Without a doubt unique.
Natural Mahogany stain on “power” tom & bass shells – all 6 ply maple. All toms have “modular” mounts, including the two floor toms (no legs on floor toms; they are “suspended” with the modular hardware from a stand). All toms have triple-flanged hoops and “Classic” tension casings. Ludwig “Rockers” silver dot batter heads and Ludwig “Rockers” heavy clear resonant heads.
The 14” tom (*) is not set-up on the kit in the pictures (and has a whole lot less head wear)…I did not have enough room to fit it in across the top.
The 16” tom (**) has no mounting hardware on its shell and is supported by a snare drum type stand (see pictures).
“Coliseum Series” 14” X 8” wood shell (6 ply) snare with Stainless Steel / chrome finish. 12 lugs with tension lock nuts. P-85 strainer and P-32 butt. 18-strand thin wire snares. Currently, I have a marching head (Remo “Falam” woven mesh) on the batter side (I felt like the standard batter head was too resonant). On the bottom, it’s the original Ludwig “Resonant Snare X Thin Clear Snare” head.

Hardware / Stands
2 original Ludwig “Speed King” bass drum pedals….both have excellent action…no issues with these pedals.
Each bass drum has a double set of spurs with rubber feet over “pointy” ends. All in excellent condition.
Original Ludwig hi-hat stand with modular hardware for “leg-less” mounting to shell of bass drum.
Cymbal stands ("Atlas" or "Hercules" models?) are in excellent shape with no rust and barely noticeable pitting in one or two spots.
Background Story
Originally purchased on consignment in 1987 from “Rick’s Drum Shop” in Toledo, Ohio. I seem to remember someone telling me that the set was being consigned by Rick’s because a woman got it in a divorce settlement and was trying to unload it quickly. The guys at the shop were very anxious to get it out of the store because it was taking up too much floor space.
I was 15 at the time. The set went into my parents’ finished basement where I played it for several years through high school. It never left my basement.
I went to college and it wasn’t played. I moved to Atlanta after college, and moved the set to Atlanta as well, but never put it together. Moved a couple times around town, but never set it up. It has always been stored in climate / humidity controlled areas.
One look at the set and you would see that this was gently used and very well taken care of.
Just recently dusted off, cleaned-up and polished, tuned, and set it up so it can be sold.
Overall condition is “Excellent.” Some small nicks on a couple toms where hoops rubbed shells…similar small scratches on top of bass drums.
Includes original Ludwig hex wrench for adjustment of modular hardware.
Thanks in advance for your comments / advice. Let me know if you would like to see more pics.
