And here are some photos of the pedal. I think it may be newer than than the drums and has no markings on it at all.

I remember dragging the drums out of our attic on the farm back in the mid 60's, when I first started playing, and I can't remember if the pedal was with it then or not, or if he found one somewhere when he worked at the museum where this stuff had been on consignment.

Any ideas as to what year or make it is?

The bass drum pedal is probably from the late 40's to early to mid 50's.

Wonderful drums, but just out of curiousity, what type of band/music did your father play with these drums? Jazz, military band, Dixieland?

It was a family band of the three brothers and two sisters. They played locally in the northwestern Minnesota area and the music they played were waltzes, polkas, etc. I guess you would call it "oldtime". The group was called "Sam's Serenader's", as Sam was the nickname of the oldest brother who started the band. If I remember correctly there was a sax, guitar, accordion/piano, violin and drums. I used to have an old photo of the band but I moved recently and apparently misplaced it.

The bass drum pedal is a George Way drum pedal, I recently sold one myself. The bass drum is most likely from the 1880's judging by the ears on it. I don't have any information on the makers unfortunately but the look at the paper label inside the drum would fit into that time frame as well.

I sold the pedal for $50.00.

The bass drum itself is probably worth about $250.00 - $500.00 because it would need new heads and rope if it is going to be played. The value comes from keeping it as a rope tension drum, this is a standard size rope tension bass drum with fife and drum corps.

Well I am going to clean them up some and try to get those snare wires to function a little better and then maybe play the snare out on some gig or at least at a practice to see how it does.
