Help! Vintage Ludwig Spur lok hi hat Last viewed: 1 day ago

Can someone tell me what I have here? I've been looking around trying to find another spur lok with the word "heel" on the pedal but haven't found any. What year is this thing? Found it in my grandfathers storage.

the only Ludwig hi hat stand that has both the spurlock pedal and is flat based is the original 1123 stand. these were made for a short time in the early-mid 60's. the 1121 was before these with a flat base but with the speed king pedal. the 1123-1 was made right after yours for many years. they have spurlock on the pedal but are not flat based. ringo used the same model stand that you have. they are great stands.

ive got two and they have just a bit of difference between them. I do not recall if they have heel on the pedal though. hope this helps some..

edit-just checked one that I have setup with a kit and has the heel stamped in it like yours..

exactly. the '64 Ludwig catalog lists the 1123. but I also have a Ludwig drummer magazine that shows the 1123-1 being introduced within that same year or so(I don't recall the particulars). ive got an early 65 kit that had an 1121 sold new with it. lots of cool stuff being made and sold back in those days for sure!

I really appreciate the feedback, guys. I am considering selling this and some other pieces. Just not sure what it's worth. At least now I have a place to start. thanks again
