This has me stumped. I guess it could of been a virgin tom and somebody put a mount on it. I don't know what type it is. No Ludwig that I know of. Any help is appreciated.
Help needed with tom mounting hole ID Last viewed: 9 hours ago
Not sure, but from the fade, its been on there for a long time....
Looks like an early 70's Pearl hex-rod mount footprint.Would the two original holes for the L-arm have been cut out with the big center hole?
Definitely looks to be holes for an early 70's Pearl hex-rod mount, as teverson-sr mentioned... but that mount's holes could in no-way have used up the original Ludwig holes without at least one of them still showing.
I suppose it is possible that someone ordered it "virgin" with the intent of installing the Pearl mounts. In my "stupid" years (maybe "innocent" would be better), I put Ludwig hardware (spurs and tom mount) on my Gretsch kit because I thought they were better....

Yes Dave, I noticed that too. That's why I'm thinking this could of been soon after purchase of the drum

I put a Ludwig tom mount from that era (post type, 2-screw mount). There is no way it was on there before, nothing lined up and no extra holes present other that whats shown.

As did a lot of other folks did with different stuff. A drum teacher of mine has Rogers from 1960's with matching wood Dyna in Red sparkle. Toms now how Pearl mounts......
Measured the holes and they are about a 1/4 off from the old Pearl hex rod mount. This had to be a virgin tom and/or someone drilled it for a different mount.
