Hi Mitch (downtownfarmer)

I don't think I'm going to sell it. This was my 1st drum kit! I don't want to let it go.

I just wanted to clean it up and make it look new again and restored.

Hi Macr0w,

I just have mixed feelings about the wrap and the whole..I just don't know what I will do.

I don't know the name of the wrap repair guy. I was just told about precision drum company.

Hi K.O.

That's a good Idea too! Thanks! What kind of polish would you use on a satin flame to clean them. Would you use regular shell cleaner like groove juice? What would you use to bring the lust back as best as possible?

Hi Tim (thornbeck),

I like K.O.'s Idea too. You know I even went to the Gretsch website and contacted them about all this too last week.. They never got back to me..

any suggestions on cleaning Aqua satin wraps? Would you use groove juice on a satin wrap or something else. I want to try and bring back the lust to the wrap.

Thanks,

Stu

I have restored a few Gretsch kits. I had one in satin flames that was really rough. I got it looking brand new. The rail mount and spade you can find on eBay for about $100. Patch the hole and throw on the rail mount. I can post a few pictures or find some of my threads.

I know a lot of satin flame owners have used Dow Scrubbing Bubbles tub cleaner with great success.

Yes I've heard about using scrubbing bubbles with a soft bristle toothbrush to clean satin flames. Those satin wraps are fairly fragile so test any cleaners and techniques in an inconspicuous area first.

Hi Tim,

Thanks! I'm defiantly going to try the Dow Scrubbing bubbles. I was thinking about instead of patching up the wholes in the bass, to maybe put a flat diamond plate to cover the whole, so wouldn't have to re wrap.. because I'll never find that old wrap to replace..

Do you know where to get a 20" White Gretsch permatone bass head?
