Help me with identifying this Ludwig snare drum Last viewed: 22 hours ago

Hello,

I have a Ludwig snare drum that came with a 70's blue olive kit I bought many years ago.

It features a 6,5" ludalloy shell, black P-85 throw-off strainer, ten imperial lugs, pointy blue olive badge with 1576355 serial number, etc... So it seems to be a regular late 70's Supra.

What bugs me is the color. It's not a chrome but a satin black.

Has anyone ever seen such color?

Or is it perhaps an Acrolite with ten imperial lugs?

Take a look at the pics.

Thanks a lot.

It's a Ludwig 402 supraphonic, someone painted it black trying to replicate a black beauty !

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

You'll see some Supras painted because they likely had a lot of flaking/pitting in the chrome. Should be a great sounding drum. Makes me wonder how the rest of the chrome was removed.
