Hello. I'm a guitar player so excuse my ignorance. I recently came across this old Ludwig standard snare drum. It looks old and needs some work. I noticed it uses a flat head screw driver to tune it, instead of the present day drum key. Does this make it vintage or valuable? Just interested if anyone could tell me what I've got. Thanks!
Help me please. Last viewed: 15 hours ago
someone changed the tension rods from conventional style to those. that's a late 60's/early 70's standard aluminum alloy snare. they sound very nice. not worth a whole lot of money though. they can be found complete and nice for under a hundred bucks usually.

Is that just a screw? If it looks (from the side) like tension rods usually look like, then they could be a European style. Some drum companies use slotted tension rods: Sonor, Premier, others.
