Help! Lug spacing Ludwig 10x14 w/large lugs???

@ mountainhick - Thanks for the link. I get it now. Sorry, I tend to get squeamish when I hear the word, 'drill' when it comes to vintage shells, but I didn't know the background info. Sounds like a great project. Look forward to seeing results.

Thanks John, I reckon you're referring to these:

Spacing looks quite different on them compared to the mounted toms. I wonder if it is due to the wood hoops/ claws arrangement. Moot at this point, I drilled the shell and mounted the lugs... now for heads and tuning.

Yes, the photo is deceptive because of the tall hoops. But the distance from the bearing edge to the top of one of those lugs is a dead-on 1".

Pix please when you're done, bud.

Will do.

Turns out I don't have 6 hole 14" rims! I'll have to use some single flange with clips for now

Single flange and clips is a great look! I love all that old-timey stuff from the 20's/30's. Sounds like a winner, Ben. Go for it. The really cool thing about these 14 inchers is how low you can tune them. Puts a mean bottom end on any kit.
