I just picked this up at a garage sale. Is there a way to determine it’s value?

One of these just sold on ebay for $122. This is higher than usual, if you follow the "completed listings". The "Buy it Now" prices that some sellers ask are preposterous, & I wouldn't put much store in them.

They frequently finish in the $50-$80 range depending on completeness. Sad because the parts are worth more. Badge alone regularly sells for $80.... I think they are cool drums....!

What you have there depends on the size. If the dimensions are 14"x 10", you have a "Gretsch Renown Junior Parade Snare Drum". If the dimensions are 15"x12" or 16"x12" it's a "Gretsch Renown Economy Parade Snare Drum".

My guess on the date is between 1940 and 1950. IDing the claw style would help with dating the drum. Looks like it's in great shape, it's vintage and collectable. The "Junior" went for around $40.00 and the "Economy" around $50.00. Both Mahogany shells with maple hoops. It's worth at least double that now. I would find an old "period" Gretsch drum key and stick it in the key holder and it will be ready for "The Three Camps"! Good Luck with it.
