Help IDing a 2000s Ludwig Color Last viewed: 57 seconds ago

Hi folks, thanks for having a look--this is my first post!

Any idea what the color is and during which years it was produced? I think the series number is L8425, if that's any help.

I've tried to find out more about these Ludwigs, but to no avail. Currently, just have a 22 inch kick. Would like to build out a complete kit, so if you know of any matching toms or snare for sale anywhere, please let me know.

Thanks for your help!

Looks like Gold Shadow, a lacquered maple with a very fine sparkle in the lacquer. Available from about 1999 til 2003? There was difficulty matching up the tint when, for example, making an extra drum for a customer, and the color was discontinued.

they also had a color i believe was just called "amber". just didn't have the sparkles in it and it was also avail on the rocker elite kits at the time. i remember not only because i worked at a music store at the time, but we had a fibes kit in the same color and i almost ordered my ludwig kit in that color.

also, i believe i sold the flyer that pic is taken from, to the owners of ths site along with a bunch of other promo ludwig stuff. perhaps they have it in the online archives.

Thanks guys...this is great info. Will post a pic of my bass drum tomorrow.

It's a shame they discontinued it. It's a beautiful finish.

Hey, you guys think they'd do it custom? I guess the tint matching would be a problem, huh?
