Help identifying Elvin Gretsch finish?

Loading...

I'm trying to identify a finish on a Gretsch drum from the 60s owned by Elvin. It's very similar to anniversary sparkle, but with gold flakes instead of silver. Is it possibly a custom job done just for him? It doesn't appear to be a re-wrap. Thanks for any help.

To my eyes, it does look like Anniversary Sparkle with silver flecks.

Yeah, the pictures don't really do justice to the gold tone of the flecks. Is it possible that they yellowed over the years?

Hi,

This is Anniversary Spark, often happens to the hoop inlays (yellowing)

Years of smokey clubs and sunlight can do it.
