Hi everybody. I have this set of old gold sparkle Ludwigs in need of some TLC. Going by the sn#'s the snare is 1969, and the rest 1971.
Snare - 834936
Kick - 891503
Floor Tom - 891507
The other tom's sn plate is scratched and illegible.
Anybody know what these are? Any idea of what they're worth?

Those are a nice set of champagne sparkle Super Classics, 22,13,16 & a 6.5" Supraphonic---pretty much the best Ludwig had to offer. Wash 'em with a little warm soap & water, turn the floor tom right-side up, get a 2nd snare stand for the 13, a hi-hat stand, a cymbal stand, & some cymbals. Very nice set......marko
I second everything that marko said.. The very best that Ludwig had to offer, and you sir, are one lucky guy.. As a part time restorer and vintage Ludwig fanatic, i would detail those babies by cleaning every washer, bolt, screw, lug, rim and shell, get rid of all the grime, dust and gunk that has accumulated over the last 4 decades, put them back together, put some fresh heads on them, and sit back and enjoy vintage Ludwig tone bliss.. ;) Just outta curiosity, how much you get 'em for ?
Those are great and should clean up very nicely! I have a 2012 classic maple Ludwig set that I ordered brand new and I modeled it after you set almost exactly. I went with the rail and cymbal off the bass drum but the color, badges and sizes are just like mine. Good luck!
Yes, definately a nice set.
They'll look great with some coated or smooth white heads. Find the nessisary parts to put them back together, Just don't put any new holes in the shells!
