Help finding hardware bits for '85 Yamaha Tour kit? Last viewed: 5 days ago

Howdy... just got me a 22" kick and a 12" rack tom from the '85 Yamaha Tour Series, best I can figure (BD-822GC and TT-8126C respectively). I have about $20 in them. White-wrapped drums tend not to grab my heartstrings but these things did the opposite - they somehow just looked like they'd be killer.

I am a total dunce with hardware, especially now-ostensibly-vintage stuff. The spurs are missing from the kick, although the brackets are still there. I have NO idea what these things are really supposed to look like / how the spurs and brackets are supposed to piece together, and I can't figure it out from the tiny pictures in the '83 / '86 catalogs online either.

Does anyone have a mid-80s Yamaha kick where the bracket looks like this? If so - can you ALSO show me what I should be looking for to help lock this thing down? I know it's a pain, truly, but I've never had these drums or anything like them before.

Alternately, since I want to keep this economical and easy as possible, are there any known-good aftermarket spurs that I could just throw on there in place of the bracket instead without redrilling the shell? I just got 'em so I haven't taken off the heads / gone and measured anything yet... I know, I know.

And also, I need some solution for mounting the tom - same deal, no arm, no nothin', just the bracket. I'd like to stand-mount it instead of hunting down the matching kick-mount arm. What other makes might fit? Or maybe I should just go suspension mount...? Hey, I just noticed the clamp-on screw is missing. :(

Finally... hey, if anyone happens to have a "matching" 16" floor tom in any color... (never hurts to ask, right?)

OK, I've managed to establish that the spur brackets are same as those allegedly used on the Recording Custom etc., so-called PBBL (as seen [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-PBBL-Bass-Bracket-U0150201/dp/B0098FT3SS"]here[/ame]). Mine have "R / JAPAN" cast into the underside of the bracket. Screw spacing center to center is roughly 54mm center to center and 35mm top to bottom.

I've been able to find tons of the replacement *brackets* but so far no *spurs*... any leads on that, or info on whether Yamaha's non-YESS mounting setup has really changed that much since '85 (to deal with the tom-mounting quandary), would be helpful. I'm going to call Yamaha on Monday to see if I can get the spurs directly from them without sending them nine million dollars but I'm already guessing there will be a cheaper source (or outright replacement solution) somewhere.

(by the way, these shells are SUPER clean and look incredibly well made. Not that I'm shocked by the latter.)

and two minutes later... I think I'm after Yamaha parts PBLALN and PBLARN. $100 for a new pair is what I am CURRENTLY coming up with. Ouch.

I'm wondering if these Cannons would work. The legs look right but the brackets look wrong, and the hole spacing for the included brackets sounds backward and not quite on. Anyone tried these on their old Yamahas?

I have the correct Yamahahaha double tom mount that will work...or...you can just use 1 arm too with it...
