Let me also take you down the road of this year model Rk's, the issues you've already mentioned!! well they have only began. the shells will have ply separation and re ring separation and not in round shells,. once you correct some of this. then you'll get to play them.
Help Dating Some Slingy Radio Kings Last viewed: 1 hour ago
No, I don't have the book, although I should. I will probably buy a copy at some point. I have read through the Radio King information before, just not recently. I will go through it again. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Still a bit curious about the double threaded lugs for separate head tension. I guess this was an early practice and they were only manufacturing the single threaded lugs for bass drums at the time.
I'm thinking that since they are all the same, they were a factory install........
If one broke, then why would someone replace them all, 'ya know?

you could custom order the kit how ever you wanted. krupa's original kit have offset lugs on it.
2000, In your photo of the early duco RK's, the snare is a 40's model while the rest are 30's, correct?

Not sure what you're saying...

Love the ducos. My favorite finish of all time. Congrats on owning those.
here is the 30's snare drum.
this kit has a glorious history I bought it from one of the members of Bill Monroe's band who played drums and guitar and mandolin. the bass drum on the right is all maple 3 ply shell. custom ordered.
That the double -ended ones are correct for the drum because if they were not, then all of them have been replaced. And why would anyone do that? Replace a broken correct one with all incorrect ones.... why not just replace the one broken one with one correct one....?? ......... So, they are correct to the drum.
Cheers !!
