Help: COB 4160 RB edges/shell versus new re-issues Last viewed: 5 hours ago

Loading...

Im trying to find out if the '60s round badge shells are spun brass or have a seem like the newer re-issue versions (I know there is an upmarket new version that is spun brass shell without seems) and if the new version that reportedly has 40 degree 'turned over bearing edges means its different than the round badge bearing edges that look to me like they are quite rounded.

Wondering about adding a 4160 to my RB kit and what the construction and sound difference is between 60s 4160s and newer versions Gretsch is putting out.

Any help very appreciated before I pull the trigger. thanks!

the 60's catalogs do describe the metal shells as being spun and seamless.
