just joined. not only do I own vintage drums (Rogers Holiday 1960 red sparkle) and Quadura by Remo (just bought yesterday) , I am vintage myself. Began playing professionally at 14 in 1961. 50 years playing the instrument we all love. Can anyone tell me about the Remo set. It is illustrated with Lamborginis. Kind of ugly. www.jazzexpresspittsburgh.com

Welcome Frank...Kind of vintage myself. Just got a 9/72 Rogers not to long ago, haven't started on it yet, got a few ahead of it, but it'll be fun. I know what you mean about kind of ugly, but that's what we do is make them beautiful again, right? I don't know about Remo, someone here will though I promise you that. This is an incredable site for learning and knowledge. Maybe someday if you work on a good old Ludwig I can be of some help to you. Have fun and enjoy...Joe

Thanks for the replies. The tone of those vintage drums are great. I am still playing in Pittsburgh area (Rivers Casino and other clubs). i bought a set of Classic Pro made in China and they are great. No match for my Rogers and the "new at the time" Swiv-O-Matic concept. Wish I could share a photo of them with you. Still use them

I am trying to post a photo of my Rogers set in a gig a couple of years ago at Heinz Hallfor the Performing ARts in Pittsburgh with two members of the Pittsburgh Symphony. Can't see the drums real well, but you can notice that the rims or hoops are coming loose. They need some work.

welcome ,this is turning into old home for geezer drummers no offense im 60 myself love it " i dont want to work i want to bang on the drum all day"

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
