hey guys;

my name is mike, not really new here as i have been lurking for at least a couple of years but finally registered to try and track down some parts for various projects i am working on. (looking for metric heads to fit old premiers in wtb section.)

playing rather poorly on and off for 20+ years, doing repairs for about the last 8, restoration and building from scratch for about 4 or 5. have met a few of you in real life buying, selling and trading around the kitchener / hamilton / london area of ontario, canada and look forward to meeting more of you here.

currently working on '47 radio kings, early '60s olympics, mid '80s canwoods, "orphans" jungle kit.

drop me a line, let's chat.

'sup!?!?!

I am a noobie when it comes to rebuilding kits. Hell- it just seems I am putting together a mongrel Premier kit (consisting of APK, Powerhouse and '80s-90s marching stuff). But I do know that the old stuff is just better. After a bitter disappointment with a cheaper modern kit, I am now on a rampage to find the sound in my head, and I have it!!!!

I have also been on a mad woodshedding phase in my playing. I feel that finding my voice is making me a much more confident player. The old stuff is great, and I have a funny feeling my basement will be full of vintage drum kits.

Yeah- I'm THAT guy!!!

I agree! pictures of drum kits are always a plus! weather you think they are presentable or not, nice pics will make us jealous , pics of not so nice kits make us feel better about ours.

hey guys;

thanks for the responses. here are a few pics of the rk snare drum i have been working on. was kind of rough when i picked it up, needed some work on the re rings, everything needed to be disassembled and cleaned, then cleaned again. it was really grimy. not a collector piece by any means but she has the song of a siren and that is what matters.

missing the baseball bat extension, which seems pretty common and 2 tension rods aren't original. have to clean up the bass drum and floor tom and then out the door to make room for other projects.

how does she look?
