Well, it's a pity you're not related to BuilderBob, but then from what I understand, you've written a book. That's nearly as good I guess. (except you don't get to wear that neat hat)

So, just so you won't feel bad about all this; tell you what I'll do...

Go ahead and sign one of those books you've penned, and mail it to me.

If I ever get around to writing the great novel I've heard resides in all of us, I'll sign it and send it to you!

I'll even autograph it as well.

Now, doesn't that make you feel better? Excited

Welcome Bob from one new guy to another on this forum!

Hello to you also. When I'm in LA, I love going to Ameoba Music, the best record store in the world, I think. I spend too much money every time I go there. And nothing like standing in line at Pink's at 2:30 in the morning. The chili dogs are amazing. I stayed in Venice Beach the last time I was in LA for the NAMM show in '07. My friend and I went to the Viper Room to see Mike Campbell's side band, The Dirty Knobs. Great show. I hope to go to NAMM again next January.

When I was 15-16, the only place in the world I wanted to be was Los Angeles, because lots of my favorite bands were there, like The Byrds, Love, The Doors, Steppenwolf, etc. And of course, there were the girls. The first thing I did when I finally got to LA was cruise the Sunset Strip and take pictures of the Whiskey, the Troubador, and all the other tourist stuff like Rodeo Drive, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, etc.

Well, I'm ahead of you. My wife gave that book to me for Christmas this last year.

Nice!

Welcome! Bob. We need more people here that actually know what they are talking about...me, not so much. I am just a smarta$$ that likes those beat old MIJ junk...and I actually know how to make them quite "serviceable".Excited

I just couldn't get into "that other place" and no one really liked me much anyway, 'cept the guys from here that already knew me. And I am not so sure they really do, anyway! Hurting

jonnistix...I remember you from "that other place." Do you recall me discussing my Crest stencil set? I bought them from a guy in Stroudsburg, PA for $120. The set is in primo condition, BDP, great chrome, diecast hoops on the toms. Sizes are 20/12/14. The toms don't "sing" like my DWs, but they sound more than adequate, and I use them on small space gigs. I would love to have another stencil set in a wild, rare finish.
