Heartwarming E-bay sale Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Heartwarming E-bay sale- I sold my 1972 Sonor drums to Stefan in Europe via ebay. Exporting them turned out to be difficult, since they are covered with rosewood. People warned me about scams on overseas sales but Stefan had wanted a set like this for years and bid aggressively, then spent a lot getting them shipped. His joy upon finally getting them is contagious-

Dear Steve

Today is a very special and wonderful day for me.

I am just very happy and excited about having finally your drums in my apartment. Thank you very much for all you did to make this possible. They were very well packed and arrived in excellent shape. They look more beautyful than I expected them to be. And I am sure they will sound great because I played on a Sonor Swinger kit before which was amazing as well.

I have dreamed of playing these drums for about ten years and finally my dream came true. It's amazing.

I will keep them in good hands and treat them like a baby.

It was a question of patience and work for you to send them over here. I often felt bad about that but I promise you that it was worth every single struggle to get them over here. A part of you, of your history and of your gentleman contact, will remain in these drums as long as I will play them and I hope this will be for many years in my life.

I took them to my home. I can't play here but I have to watch until I will have time to put some new skins. This weekend I will leave for a two week tour in Germany and Poland with a post rock band I play vibraphones and some percussion with. I am very happy they did arrive befor I will leave for the tour.

In April I will take the drums to my rehearsal room and make them ready to play. I will send you a picture then.

Here are some pictures I took today for you.

All I can do is thank you once more for all the pain in the ass.

I am very happy

Stefan

Great thread!!

It is more "hoops" to jump through to ship International. Sorry for the bad pun.

But as the customers smile attests it is worth the effort.

Enjoy your kit Stefan.

Nothing special here but I like them.
