Hardware Questions - WFL, Slingerland Last viewed: 13 hours ago

Loading...

I have some hardware questions - if you could help me. I actually enjoy these threads - fun to see if I know the answer - like a public quiz!

First, I have 2 Slingerland snare stands - one red label, another with no label. I am wondering if the bottom is supposed to have some type of stop or if they are supposed to be this way. Seems that they were not flanged as the original tubing is not flanged at the bottom on either one of these. Next question in regards to these - is that black plastic handled bolt stock? The threading is right and I have seen these on some MIJs, but not sure if they appeared on stock Slingers.

Next, is this top half of this WFL snare stand a match to the bottom? This one IS flanged at the bottom - just want to make sure it is a match - and what year/ era?

Last, see this clip mount piece (that appear on the tom) - is this American or MIJ? The threading/size on the screws appear to be SAE NC24/10 - which implies American, but I just wanted to confirm and hopefully get an ID.

Please refer specifically when discussing stands (red label or black knobbed Slinger , etc.)

Thanks,

John

Last pic - will add more here if needed. This last pic is the bottom of the WFL stand. There are no knobs on this lower portion of the stand for opening or closing the legs - just slide open and the flanged end as the stop. Is this WFL or Ludwig and can I get a date/era.......

(Should this have a Ludwig top or is this WFL correct?

Thanks!

Black label stand that black plastic knob is correct. Not sure on the flange bottoms. I have 2 black and 2 red and think they are the same as yours. I know for sure the black one's of mine are not flanged. The extended bottom brace stops at the bottom of the tube. But could be forced out if it's pushed on hard. Everything is packed away at the moment so I can't really look at them now. The tom clip I know Slingerland used them and think Ludwig did also. So my guess that is US part.

that round tom mount looks like the mount that Ludwig used on the first Hollywood kits from the late 50's until early 65. ive got one of those kits. if you give me a hole to hole measurement, I could verify if you'd like.
