Hang Out With Forum Member Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Hi All,

Had a great time with fellow forum member, MickM today! Big fun, lots of playing different drums, drum talk and great camaraderie. It's always a gas for me to hang out with another drummer/musician. It just creates an instant connection that is based on common/shared experience. I just wanted to say that I had a great time and I look forward to doing it again.

If you ever get the chance to hang with another forum member, go for it. Guaranteed good time.

John

Ok, so maybe not 'everybody!' lol

MikeT - I might be heading past your way on Mayan Apocalypse Day, Dec 21st as I run from the Atlantic tidal wave that will wipe out the east coast.

John will be easy to spot in that instance. Just look for him and Bev shooting the rapids in that 26" bass drum from his Levon Helm "Woody" kit and a canoe paddle!!

Seriously, had some big fun for sure. I'm only at this drum thing for close to 2 months and John gave me a good amount of stuff to work on and made it easy to digest. Hopefully I'll be comfortable enough with it in 5 or six weeks so that I have another reason to drop by. Almost forgot: John let me "play" his pre-serial Ludwig kit. Sounds BIG! and tight and punchy.....gorgeous!

WARNING!!! Don't go reaching your greasey mitts toward any freshly polished Camco lugs lest ye be partial to a bloody stump!

LOL - Mick was feeling up the lugs on my Camco kit and it was like watching someone fondle my wife... I reacted like Felix Unger when Oscar dirtied an ashtray! Laughing H

You're welcome anytime, Mick. Just keep your grubby mitts off my lugs! lol

Major drum shows are a great place to hook up with other VDF members. Problem is; we're scattered all over the planet, you could only ever get a few local guys to attend. We have the forum. Getting to meet other members in-person is a rare treat and I really do enjoy it when I get the opportunity.
