gull wing style bass drum spurs (help identify) Last viewed: 4 hours ago

I just bought a ludwig kit that has gull wing

style bass drum spurs

it appears someone has taken the badges off

The bass drum also has the diamond style mount on it?

If I wanted to put badges on it, would I put keystone badges or blue and olive badges?

the toms are all 3 ply with the re-rings but someone has painted the interior?

a purple color.. (don't know what they were thinking!)

The kit currently has blue and olive badges on it but the grommet is not

period correct

would i be correct in thinking the bass drum would be keystone and the toms could be blue olive badge?

the color on all of them is black cortex if that helps

any help would be appreciated

Check out my ludwig drum collection!

To the best of my knowledge,( and I may be wrong) I believe that the gull wings went out about the same time as the keystone badges. I have a '69, 20" with B/O, and arched spurs. If the spurs are original,(no extra holes) then my guess would be '60s keystone. Can't say on the toms - does wrap appear to match?

yes, indeed the wrap matches all of the drums

did'nt know if the holes for the badges were different

between the keystone and b/o badges?

I agree with the timeline Daddy mentioned above. I had a July 1969 Ludwig Psych Red kit with fold-out gull wing spurs and Keystone badges. I've never seen a B/O kit with gull wing spurs.
