Grover Drum Set

Hi All,

I typically play (as a hobbyist these days) Gretsch sets...but I came across a BOP/Jazz set made by Grover. I know they make orchestral instruments, but does anyone know anything about these drums and their quality and worth. They look good and appear to be maple. Thanks much for any and all info and advice! Any pics would be fantastic!

Grover drums are a Canadian company I believe,they make nice quality snare wires,I saw a segment on how it's made on them,they do steam bend single ply maple shells for snare drums,and it looked like they used outsourced maple shells for kit drums and in this case added an outer or face ply of burled maple ,looked like quality work and craft to me.you can check this out, [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tvy7iS4K0Os[/ame]

The only Grover drum set I've ever seen was on the "How It's Made" episode that showed drum shells being made (in the Grover factory). You can see Neil Grover playing that kit at 5:30 in the YouTube clip posted above.

I've used Grover concert snares and auxiliary percussion, which is top-notch stuff. I'd love to check out one of their drum sets.

I recently acquired a Grover 5x14 snare that has a fibreglass shell made by Paul Mason of Tempus Drums. Even has Tempus lugs. Has the Grover wires and badge though.

Hoping this uploads....nice set for sure. Sound great, but will sound better once the new heads arrive. There is a Grover snare just like this one on sale on Ebay and it could be a steal...this one rivals my Supras for crack and sensitivity.
