This is a nice 6x14 Gretsch vintage snare drum in a walnut finish. It has eight lugs, jasper shell, silver sealer and key attached to the shell. There is a new nickelworks throwoff, so there are four small holes where original throwoff went, not a collectors snare, but a great looking and sounding Gretsch drum, thanks.

This is a strange bird.
The serial number places it right after the SSB#1 transition. It's 14" x 6", but the catalog only lists 14" x 6 1/2" snares. The 14" x 6 1/2" snares used split lugs (16) and this drum only has 8 of the standard snare lugs. Are there tone control holes? I do not see the actual tone control. Are the bearing edges original? What's the model number on the tag?
I might be interested in this drum for my son's project.

There is no model number on the tag, only the serial number, after looking at it again it is a 6.5x14 and there is no muffler or holes for one, the bearing edges are original, thanks.
I looking at the picture of the tag, I see a faint "41xx", but not the last two digits. Are the numbers more visible in person than in the picture?

I,ve been looking for one of these to match my kit so here it is. I traded a demo 6.5 Yammy aluminum snare for this drum. I know i gave some up, but sometimes that not the issue when you need the missing piece of the puzzle..I,ll report when she arrives.Clapping Happy2
