Gretsch snare question Last viewed: 22 hours ago

Hi guys, not a Gretsch expert, but this looks like a real Gretsch snare to me. I hope I'm right. Can anybody please advise me on what model this is? I haven't seen this seperate tension model before.

I hope it's not a Kent that was made to look like a Gretsch. What do you think?

Thanks in advance.

Interior paint looks a bit messy to be Gretsch. Is this a Kent or a Gretsch?

It is a real gretsch snare drum it looks to be a junior pro single tension model

Thanks vintagemore. I had my doubts. It looked a bit Kenty to me. Glad it's not. No disrespect to Kent, but I want a Gretsch. What do you make of that paint job? Factory? Looks a bit ham-fisted. Was it common for them to paint the bearing edges too?

Cheeahs buddy.

Would you say that paint job is factory? Looks a bit slapdash. No paper tags? Early 60's? I like it. 99 dollars - a good price?

What would be a realistic price for a snare drum like this one?

It doesn't look very round in the picture. If it's not round, to me it's worth 99 cents.

I also agree, but 99 cents? There is value in The strainer, butt plate, tension rods, hoops and the badge. I bet it'll tune up nicely. When I get it I'll let you know how much out of round that shell is.
