Gretsch Roundbadge Snare - Identification needed Last viewed: 4 hours ago

From OddBall

The "pukin pigeon" and I have agreed 61/64, just like you did. How`s yours different ?

We are in pretty close agreement regarding the approximate age of guyjones' drum. However, some of the other information presented is inconsistent with what I have seen. Specifically, I was trying to address the comments: "by 64 it was supplied with the newer lightning throw off" and "The micro. one`s don`t have these knurls."

Collecting information about the following for ongoing research projects:
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72

Thanks for this information. It has shed some light on my 4160, which seems to be a transitional no knurling / Lightning strainer version.

KCDD...#55695...would this be the lowest Lightning 4160 in your book? I think it was the lowest when I submitted it. But that was before publication.
