Found a round badge kit, bass rack tom and snare in the light blue pearl that has faded to almost silver for 750.00 asking price. Any thoughts?

I saw that one on Craigslist and liked the look of it. I also like what appears to be the compensating late 1800s looking floor tom. I didn't realize the set was faded. I was wondering more if there were finish cracks / snare rash as there is brown on the wrap in at least one of the photos, but that could be glare. If you can inspect it, go over there. Can't tell about extra holes. It's also been up since the weekend so wondering why no one hasn't bought.

I also wondered why the badge seems so far forward on the bass drum.

I don't know about which colors add / detract from value, but I paid about $1.2k for that same kit you are looking at (i.e., with no FT) but with some hardware, a trap case, some unknown Italian hi hats and a late 60s 17" A Zildjian crash. And mine was the exact color I've always wanted. (

See about getting him to throw in that random tom in the pic! Not till you get there though.

That set looks to have been from the factory, quite possibly from the early 60s, a One Nighter Plus--

Could still have original heads..at least the calf ones on the bass look there but I am hardly the expert in this regard.

Just budget around $500 - 600 including for a 16" floor tom off ebay in your color. Less if you can find elsewhere. If in nice shape I'd be glad to have a Gretsch RB set with matching snare for around $1400. But that's me.

Let us know if you go for it!
