Im wondering if the red “tape” on the rim of this gretsch timbale is original. Im trying to decide what I can do to clean this drum up without diminishing its collectors value if there is any. I could potentially use it but Id also be willing to pass it along if there was interest.

NO red tape not an original feature on that timbale. Originally it would have been wrapped with calf skin
