Gretsch Round Badge Project Kit!

Loading...

Not mine, but if anybody is interested, looks like an excellent project kit at the right price... late 50's kit!

http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/msg/3451857278.html

Bass drum will have some extra holes because of those horrible spurs they added. Not sure if they drilled the top of the bass drum for a non-original tom mount. Any extra holes can be made to disappear with some fresh wrap. They look to be natural wood finish though and it would be nice if they could be kept that way. Hoops are triple flange not die-cast, but everything else looks original and in workable condition. These drums are screaming for a refinish or some Tangerine Glass wrap! I have a set sitting downstairs so I can vouch for how good these drums sound.

Hope somebody here scores these.

John, if I lived near it I would go check it out. I do not have any Gretsch drums. I need another project once my Rogers kit is finished.

Jeff - for the price, if you have some spare income on-hand, this one is worth buying and storing in the closet until you're ready to get into it. Late 50's round badge kits, even project kits, like this one, do not come along very often for $575 bucks! Rewrapped in something nice, Classic, like Tangerine glass or Burgundy and this kit will have a $1600. to $1800. value the second you tune them up after the resto. These drums are warmer than cuddling with three thick women on a cold night. They just don't come along very often is all...

Rocketman - Did you read my original post?

Lingontega - Call Charlie is right! These are the same tubs! Granted these need some work to put them right, but man oh man, tell me where else you are going to find a late 50's Gretsch Progressive Jazz kit in natural maple for $500?
